So how do these webmasters find these top-paying keyword phrases? Research. Tools. Web Searching. You have to do your homework on your targeted keyword phrases to increase the potential you may earn with AdSense, or virtually any contextual ads. But isn’t it worth spending a bit of time to find a keyword phrase that pays more that another? It won’t hurt your readers enthusiasm about your work since you’re still giveing them valuable information. All your doing is optimizing your keyword phrases to ensure that you can earn and continue doing what you love.
For Example:
If Keword Phrase A pays you 8 cents per click and Keyword Phrase B pays you 75 cents per click and you receive one hundred clicks per day…***Doing the Math***; Keyword Phrase A would bring you 8 dollars at the end of the day and Keyword Phrase B would bring you 75 dollars. Which do you prefer? Wasn’t it worth the hour or so to do the research for Keyword Phrase B?
There exist many programs that help you do your research for your keyword phrases in much less time. These tools (a.k.a Keyword Phrase programs, scripts, software, lists, databases) all help you find what you need faster. Many companies create similar keyword phrase tools such as: Wordtracker, Keyword Elite, SpyFu – just to name a few. These tools help not only to create top paying keyword phrase lists – that you can later create content revolving around – but they also help you understand who your cometitors are, how much their paying for their adwords advertising, how much people search for that, and other, keyword phrase, how many clicks a user receives for that ad and for that keyword phrase. Some tools even give you trends in advertisers spending, and much much more.
I have tried, tested, analyzed over a hundred different keyword phrase tools. I have spent over 5000 dollars on these programs over the last few years. Some of these keyword phrase tools have paid themselves off, others haven’t, but only one has made me over 1, 000 times what I have invested with them: SpyFu.
Out of over one hundred paid and free keyword phrase tools, SpyFu remains the leader not only Return On Investment wise but also in information provided. Their keyword phrase tool in itself is worth much much more than they charge for. I know because I’ve already used a program that cost twice as much but offered one-tenth the information. We won’t name names but I can tell you that that keyword phrase tool is in the “no-no” category. Suffice it to say SpyFu is the best keyword phrase research tool, hands down. It’s the only keyword phrase tool I use now.
Back on track…
How do I use one of these keyword phrase tools to my advantage?
Using most keyword phrase tools is a snap (some keyword phrase tools however are more daunting to use, requiring many steps to achieve your results – try and stay away from those; it’s a waste of site promotion, content writing, and more top-paying keyword phrase list searching and creating time), you simply enter your keyword phrase, like “Keyword” in the search box and the program does the rest.
Informtaion returned for ”Keyword” search query using SpyFu. (To give you an example of the data you can receive when using one of the keyword phrase tools):
Cost/Click: $0.49 – $1.39 – Tells you the minimum advertisers are bidding for that Keyword Phrase (in our case “Keyword”)
Click/Day: 69.5 – 88 – Approximate amount of clicks that advertisers receive for that keyword phrase per day.
Cost/Day: $34.22 – $130 – Cost per day for that keyword phrase alone.
Advertisers: 5 – Amount of advertisers advertising for that keyword phrase through AdWords.
Search Results: 656,000,000 – The amount of Google Results for that “Keyword” as a search query.
And these are just to name a few. There’s also an “Ads” section, giving you other advertisers’ ad copy on that particular keyword. You can also get spending trends, percent decrease/increase of spending, cost/click, etc. There is so much information contained in this keyword phrase tool it’s unbelieveable. The best part is you can get all the information I mentioned here for FREE. Of course, once you start using this keywrod phrase tool you’ll want to upgrade to ensure you get ALL the info on your keyword phrases.
So how do you use that information?
It’s totally up to you. You’ll develop your own strategy on how to use your keyword phrases all your own. This information only helps point you in the right direction. Usiing ”Cost/Click”: this you know is the minimum to your maximun of what you can earn through AdSense using the keyword phrase “keyword”. If you optimize your content/article using ”Keyword” (try to keep a 5% density with sounding like your repeating it just to produce results).
Search results: for the keyword phrase “keyword”, in my opinion, I wouldn’t use it since there are too many search results, to list naturally in search engine rankings it would be quite difficult to raise yourself against 656 million other websites, no? So what do you do?
Go back to the search listing for the keyword phrase “Keyword”, on SpyFu and look at the right-hand side under “Competitors Also Bought”. This will give you a heads up of related keyword phrases for “Keyword”. I selected and clicked on “keyword software”. This one seems more appealing, in that the search results are only 7.7 million compared to 656 million for “keyword”. And the CPC (Cost/Click) is still about the same amount $0.51-$1.49. So the keyword phrase “keyword software” would be a better candidate for my content optimization.
Once you’ve created your list of targeted, top-paying keyword phrases, you’re ready to write and promote and EARN. There are billions of billions of keyword phrase variations so there is more than enough for everyone. All you really need is one to start and from there sky’s the limit. With the right tools you can build anything.
“Never Stop Aspiring”
Using Keyword Elite for Building a Massive Keyword List
After reading dozens of internet marketing books, I realized that the fee-based Wordtracker was the most reliable and popular one. I’ve used it many times and thought it was the best keyword research tool. I could type in a primary keyword, and then a bunch of related keywords could be displayed. I could then dig deeper into each keyword to build a larger list of keywords. After using Overture and Wordtracker for some time, there were still some features left to be desired:
Automatic keyword digging More keyword data sources Automatic KEI calculations
Automatic Keyword Digging
With this Keyword Elite feature, I could just type in a primary keyword and set a limit to how many keywords I wanted. Overture doesn’t have any automatic digging feature. If I wanted to display more keywords related to one on the list of results, I would have to click on the text link to query more results. With Wordtracker, it was pretty much the same. There was a dig icon that I would have to click on. It would then query that keyword as it did with the primary.
Keyword Elite has this feature built in. It prompts the user to type in a keyword and the amount of results that you want to have. You could select 100 to 10,000 keywords. So based on you primary keyword, it will automatically dig into the primary keyword and then into it’s results. This is a great time saving feature. You could enter and submit the initial parameters, take a lunch break, and then come back with thousands of keywords on your PC.
More Keyword Data Sources
With more data sources, the keyword tool would be more accurate. You would have a larger data sample representing a larger amount of keywords that people actually searched for. Since Overture’s keyword suggestion tool is a product of Yahoo Search Marketing, it’s results are pretty restricted. With Wordtracker, it’s data only comes from meta-search engines. So again, the results are limited.
With Keyword Elite, you have a plethora of databases and retrieval options. The main options are Overture, Google’s keyword suggestion tool, and Teoma’s database (Ask.com). In addition to that, you could even grab meta keywords from websites related to your primary keyword. Having these options are great, considering that Google and Yahoo are the primary websites for browsing the net.
Automatic KEI Calculations
The KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) is a popular calculation for determining the supply and demand of a keyword. Although there are other effective ways to determine the supply and demand, finding out how much competition you have is a must when planning out your websites. Overture doesn’t have any KEI calculation. Wordtracker does have it, but you have to do it in bunches of 100. With Keyword Elite, you could select more than a hundred and automatically calculate the KEI. So again, you could calculate the KEI, step away from your desk, and later have the results. I prefer doing this rather than being at my PC just to click a button.
As you can see, Keyword Elite is a time saving tool. You could find a bunch of free tools to do a similar task, but how important is your time? It would be wise to use your valuable time towards tasks that actually make you money. Why not have your computer do the work and speed up keyword research for you?

Search Engine Keywords Phrase Selection

The right words or phrases will bring an unlimited amount of traffic to your site. However, if your keywords are too general or over-used, the possibility of visitors actually making it the way to your site, or of you seeing any real profits from the visitors who do arrive, decreases at a dramatic rate.
Your keywords serve as the foundation of your marketing strategy. If they are not chosen carefully, the right people may never get the chance to find out about your marketing campaign regardless of how carefully planned and effective it may be. Your first step in plotting your strategy is to gather and evaluate keywords and phrases.
You probably think you already know the exact words to use for your search phrases. Unfortunately, if you haven’t followed certain specific steps, you are probably wrong. Objectivity is difficult when you are in the midst of your business network, which is why you may not be able to choose the most efficient keywords from the inside.
You need to think like your customers. And since you are a business owner and not the consumer, your best bet is to go directly to the source.
Instead of plunging in and scribbling down a list of potential search words and phrases yourself, ask for words from as many potential customers as possible. You will most likely find out that your perspective of your business differs significantly from that of your customers.
The consumer is an invaluable resource. You will find the words you accumulate from them are words and phrases you probably never would have considered. Only after you have gathered as many words and phrases from outside resources should you add your own keywords to the list. Once you have this list prepared, you are ready for the next step: evaluation.
The aim of the evaluation process is to narrow down your list to a small number of words and phrases that will direct the highest number of quality visitors, or those consumers who are most likely to make a purchase rather than just cruise around your site and take off for greener pastures, to your website.
In evaluating the effectiveness of keywords, bear in mind these three elements: popularity, specificity, and motivation.
Popularity is the easiest to evaluate because it is an objective quality. The more popular your keyword is, the more likely the chances are that it will be typed into a search engine likely to direct visitors to your URL. You can purchase software that will rate the popularity of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating based on genuine search engine activity. Software such as WordTracker will suggest variations of your words and phrases.
The higher the number this software assigns to a given keyword, the more traffic you can expect to be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this idea is that the more popular the keyword is, the greater the search engine position you must obtain. If you are down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer likely will never scroll down to find you.
Specificity is also important. The more specific a keyword is, the more likely that the consumer who is ready to purchase your goods or services will find you. Let’s look at a hypothetical example. Say you have obtained popularity rankings for the keyword “automobile companies.” However, you company specializes in bodywork only. The keyword “automobile body shops” would rank lower on the popularity scale than “automobile companies,” but it would serve you much better.
Instead of getting a slew of people interested in everything from buying a car to changing oil filters, you will attract only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled fenders. In other words, consumers prepared to buy your services are the ones who will find you immediately. Not only that, but the greater the specificity of your keyword, the less competition you will face.
The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer rather than the seller to figure out what motivation prompts a person looking for a service or product to type in a particular word or phrase. Let’s look at another example, such as a consumer who seeks job as an IT manager in a new city.
If you have to choose between “Seattle job listings” and “Seattle IT recruiters,” which do you think will benefit the consumer more? If you were looking for this type of specific job, which keyword would you type into a search engine? The second one, naturally, as it targets people who have decided on their career, have earned the necessary experience, and are ready to enlist you as their recruiter, rather than someone just out of school who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his or her life in between keg parties.
You want to find people who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires subtle tinkering of your keywords until you find the most specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most motivated traffic to your site.
Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done. You must evaluate performance across a variety of search engines on a continuous basis, bearing in mind that times and trends shift, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how many of your visitors actually made a purchase.
Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual search engines. Software is now available that analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic. This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you the most valuable customers.
After all, numbers alone do not make a good keyword; profits per visitor do. You must find keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your product. This is the most important factor in evaluating the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better profits.
Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for search engine success. Although this is a labor-intensive process, the amount of informed effort you put into your keyword campaign will ultimately generate your business’ rewards.

Keywords play an important role in your optimizing strategies. Let your potential readers or customers know exactly what you provide at your website. These are the most important steps to take when writing an article:
1.Search long tail keywords, with low competition yet very profitable
2.Search the average number of monthly queries for the keyword phrase
3.Check out how profitable your keywords are
Low competition keywords are what you are looking for, especially when just starting out. By doing some keyword research, even before you start writing your article, you have the chance to find gold-mine long tail keywords that target your niche and optimize your site correctly.
Long tail keywords are the keyword phrases that contain 2 or more keywords. They sometimes go up to 20+ keywords and still can be profitable. You shouldn\’t be looking for the keywords phrases with great amounts of monthly searches, while the competition is enormous you want to start out small.
Keyword suggestion tools are highly used by all webmasters and search engine optimization services. Apart from the free keyword suggestion services, such as Google AdWords Tool, which in most of the cases are slightly inaccurate, there have been developed several other keyword suggestion tools over the years just to make the optimization process easier.
I\’ve used and tested most of the keyword research tools that have been released since 2004. Here is a list of the great keyword suggestion and keyword analysis tools that are worth millions:
Wordtracker
Either you want to optimize your sites or you want to improve your Adwords campaigns, I highly recommend subscribing to Wordtracker. Wordtracker proves to be tone of the leading keyword research tools.
Micro Niche Finder
Micro Niche Finder lets you uncover low competition niche markets, highly optimize them with the right keywords and possibly rank on the top listings for the specific keywords. When it comes to keyword research and keyword analysis tools, Micro Niche Finder is one of the leaders.
SEO Elite
SEO Elite v.4.0 is another keyword suggestion tool developed by Brad Callen the same creator of Keyword Elite. It\’s already used by thousands of webmasters and even well known SEO services.
Keyword Elite
Keyword research is one of the most important steps and should be done even before you enter a new niche or every time you provide articles for your website.
Your keywords research efforts will definitely be worth your time on the long run. Don\’t make the same mistake again an again, try optimizing your content, let the search engines know what exactly your site is about. Searching for the most competitive keywords right from the beginning is nothing different from digging your own grave.
