Chances are you struggle (like I do) with finding good keywords. Finding keywords isn’t actually the problem. Most of what I find are just not good enough.
When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Sadly, that’s not always how it goes.
What you see (the data) is not what you get. But it probably was at the time they put it together. I stumbled across the solution to this particular conundrum.
I was going for a keyword that had roughly five thousand competing pages. I was pretty sure I could get a good result with that keyword. I started churning out articles by the bucket load.
Pretty soon I noticed over 9000 competitors. I was shocked at this huge difference. Looked like it was going to be hard work. As it happens most of these extra results were my articles on these different sites.
The point I’m trying to get across is that had I looked at the keyword with 9000 competitors, I would have left it alone. As a lot of them were mine (or had my article on) I was competing against my self most of the time. A win win situation if you ask me.
I got lucky on that keyword but I suspected I may not get lucky again so I made the decision to try out a keyword research service. Hopefully I could get some golden keywords delivered to my inbox every day. Balancing cost against time taken (by me) seemed to prove it could be a valuable asset.
Of the keyword research services on offer I opted to try Travis Sago’s Instacash. After all, he’s the king of the bum marketers. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.
If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. When all I have is time then two hours saved can be huge to me. For what the service costs each day against my 2 hours means I’m getting huge value.
I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I reckon there’s not much difference here. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.
